O&R Donates $7,500, Helps Place Holiday Wreaths on West Point Graves
Approximately 30 Con Edison and O&R volunteers, their families and their friends braved last Saturday’s pouring rain to pay tribute to the heroic sacrifice of U.S soldiers interred at West Point by laying wreaths at more than 7,000 graves in the cemetery at the United States Military Academy there.
Through its Community Investment Committee (CIC), O&R also donated $7,500 to the annual Wreaths at West Point observance, a local project affiliated with the Wreaths Across America program. West Point’s cemetery is one of nearly 13,400 locations across the nation that place wreaths, including 248,000 wreaths on the graves at Arlington National Cemetery.
