Chester Community Unites in First Arbor Day Salute, Tribute to Long-time Postmaster Jack Deshler
Orange and Rockland Utilities (O&R), in cooperation with Chester’s Conservation Advisory Council (CAC), Town of Chester, Village of Chester and Chester Fire District, Thursday, marked Arbor Day (today) by providing a program featuring seedlings and planting tips to the community.
The event, the first-ever Arbor Day observance in Chester, celebrated the planting, upkeep and preservation of trees.
In addition, a memorial tree was planted as a living tribute to long-time Chester Postmaster and resident, public servant and community volunteer, Jack Deshler. The memorial tree donation was provided by Wickes/arborist a Davey Company.
