O&R - Expect Traffic Delays in Highland Falls Sunday
Transformer Replacement Required on Mountain Road
O&R is advising motorists in the vicinity of Mountain Road in Highland Falls on Sunday morning (Aug. 2) to expect traffic delays as O&R performs a transformer replacement that’s required in its Highland Falls electric substation.
Equipment staging for the transformer replacement will begin on the substation site at 8 a. m. Sunday. O&R plans for the replacement to be completed at noon. Through the morning, heavy machinery moving the existing transformer out and the new transformer into the station will require the intermittent closing of one or both lanes of Mountain Road for extended periods of time.
All local permits are in place and municipal and law enforcement notifications have been made. Appropriate traffic control measures will be in place.
The move will be made weather permitting.
O&R personnel follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines and practice social distancing with each other and members of the public when responding to emergency calls. O&R asks that members of the public remain a safe social distance from O&R crews, work sites and trucks. If you must speak to the crews, please maintain a social distance of at least six feet so that everyone’s health is protected.
