How to Request Annual, Aggregated Energy Consumption Data for your Building
Building owners can measure their aggregated energy and water consumption in a process called benchmarking. Benchmarking data provides valuable insight into a building’s energy use over time – allowing building owners to accurately plan for energy efficient upgrades.
To begin the benchmarking process, building owners must utilize the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s online tool, the ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager, in addition to our company’s new Building Energy Usage Portal.
Follow the steps below to begin measuring your building’s energy data with ease:
- Create or register new accounts with both the Building Energy Usage Portal and the ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager.
- if this is your first time accessing either of these tools: Take note of your BEUP Requestor ID as you’ll need it in the next step. If you already have user accounts, simply log in to both.
- Once both accounts are registered, connect your Portfolio Manager account with O&R/Rockland Electric Web Services (you can search by username for OrangeRocklandBenchmarking).
- You will need the Requestor ID associated with your BEUP account. If you previously connected your accounts, you don’t have to do it again.
- Set up your properties in ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager. Consult the How to Set up Your Property Guide for additional details.
- Set up authorizations by property.
- For each property, enter the Property ID number from Portfolio Manager.
- If you are a third-party requestor, submit these authorizations for customer approval. Self-requestors are automatically approved.
- Once property authorizations are accepted and approved, share your properties in Portfolio Manager with O&R/Rockland Electric Co.
Once these steps are complete, we will automatically upload your building’s energy consumption to your Portfolio Manager account.
If your request submission fails, you can submit a request manually.
